Low Miles - Street Ridden - Not perfect, there are scuffs, scratches, and wear typical for an almost 40 year old bike. Ridden carefully during the early 80s on the street.Indoors over the many years since. All the chrome including the rims and the spokes can really be polished and shined up to a sparkle or you can leave the original. Age and patina as it is. The paint is still pretty good for the age. Still some scrapes and areas that could be touched up.
These original BiPlane forks were repainted and sealed a. And the fork's original stickers were taped over at that time for preservation. The Bear Trap pedals shown/included are not original.The tires are Specialized Street Stompers from the early 80s. The Richey Grips shown are earliest 80s too. Replacements for the original cheap foamy grips with the red ends (also gone).
The chain is in nice shape and is not original of course. Everything is original but the Richey Grips, the Specialized Road Tires, and the chain. Specialized Stumpjumpers from this earliest era are in the Mtn.Bike Hall of Fame & on display in many bike shops around the world. You can find all kinds of spec info and pictures of these bikes online. They produced these early bikes in batches.
