Whyte G160RS 2017 Gravity Enduro Mountain Bike Frame size Large. Cheltenham based Whyte bikes has been making top-end mountain bikes for decades, often found on the covers of magazines, since the days of the PRST-1 they're always been desirable high-spec bikes. Today, mountain biking has proliferated into multiple different sub-genres for different styles of riding, this bike - a G160RS - is what is known as a'gravity enduro' mountain bike.
This means it's intended for a'winch up, hoon down' kind of fun riding that you'll encounter at most trail centres across the UK. 6 inches of well damped rockshox air suspension front and rear means this bike eats rocks for breakfast and can be easily'hucked' over technical features. Front and rear shocks hold air well - rear shock only loses a small amount of pressure over a very long period and is easily topped up with a shock pump. Some non-standard parts have been added during its life.
The dropper seatpost is a specialized command post, which is cable actuated instead of the original hydraulic rockshox one which broke, I found this to be a big improvement. It slips occasionally under load, which I attribute to my 18 stone weight.
The SRAM brakes have been upgraded to hayes strokers, with an 8 inch rotor up front for extra stoppage. The rear brake does not use the internal routing. The rear tyre is non-original, as these bikes were supplied with a hard-pack / tarmac tyre on the rear which was too slippy when climbing. The handlebar and STEM are amazon aftermarket parts, and the headseat has been replaced once. The bike is set up as non-tubeless but has tubeless capable rims if you want to convert it. Personally I love inner tubes. I've loved riding this bike and I'm sorry to part with it but I'm making room in the garage for an e-bike, hence reason for sale. Thank you and enjoy your new G160RS, see you on the trails! This item is in the category "Sporting Goods\Cycling\Bikes". The seller is "weetobix" and is located in this country: GB.
